Field Woundwort Stachys arvensis

An ancient introduction (archaeophyte), this species has declined somewhat in recent years and is now very local and uncommon, at least in Norfolk. Ther is one field in Edgefield, however, that always holds this species, which appears amongst the stubble in the late summer.
